So the twins have turned 2 this past week. Since their language started forming, I decided to try a little experiment: I would speak to them exclusively in my imperfect and learned Chinese while my husband speaks to them in English. As you can imagine, it’s been fun communicating in our house! Lol. Inevitably, one twin has the stronger verbal skills so I thought it would be funny to have the stronger communicator interpret for the other.
In case you missed the annotation, saying “I love you” fast and slurred together in Chinese sounds like “whiney”.
I had toyed with the idea of including the oldest daughter in the background of the last panel genuinely “whining” with the word *whine* coming from her because in real life, there is no shortage of jealousy for Mom’s attention in our house! Lol I decided against it to keep things simple.
