Growing up, we had a streamlined system for our dinner routine. My dad would sharply sound the dinner alarm (his voice) to send us 4 girls into a flurry, scrambling to the kitchen to help set the table. He was the chef and he did not like to wait. Today, I follow in my father’s footsteps and I now understand why he doesn’t like to wait.
When you spend so much effort toiling over a dish (especially Chinese cuisine which is usually quite labour-intensive), it is best served hot so that all patrons may benefit from maximum enjoyment. The chef themselves, also would like to eat while food is still hot so they too can enjoy the fruits of their labour to the max.
Is anyone else out there like this? XD
