I drew this up a while ago and so it was waiting in the wings for its turn at bat.
I love how the white ivory and black ebonite on a piano is referred to as keys. Taken out of context, it means something else altogether so initially this cartoon idea was just a piano asking, “Has anyone seen my keys?”. But as I got ready to draw it up, I thought, “Wait a second, if the piano doesn’t have its teeth, how would it really sound?” And so, the lisp happened.
Later I added a few more ridiculous features feminizing the piano – makeup, high heels, lipstick.
My husband told me I should have the piano named Alicia, as in Alicia Keys.
It didn’t pass the muster.
